Trends (preview) retention and Retention Report does not match

Hello,

My trends dashboard does not show matching data with my 30 day retention report data. As an example, the D1/7/30 for my April 16 report shows 9% / 2% / 0% but my 30 day retention report in the Reports tab show 73% / 61.92% / 34.94% with a cohort size of 478.

My game is using a Unity's WebGL and is uploaded in Kongregate.

Greetings,

Does this discrepancy exist in reports for other days? Can you post screenshots of the affected reports? If there are a large number of affected reports just post April 16th and another day.

It has been consistently like this since Trends (preview) launched. I was assuming it was a bug that will get fixed. All reports from April 11-17 in the dashboard does not match.

Greetings,

The retention graph in the Trends tab displays Classic Retention, this means that out of the new players on Apr 10th around 10% of them returned on Apr 11th. Or out of the new players that logged in 7 days ago, 5% returned on Apr 11th.

While the other report, is the Thirty Day Retention report, shows the percentage of the given cohort(new and returning players) to return each day.

The discrepancy you are seeing is not an issue, the retention graph in the trends tab only tracks new players. While the Thirty Day Retention report includes new and returning players.

Thanks! I've confirmed that the Trends tab does use the Thirdy Day New User Retention Report.
