Happy summer!

Illustration depicting a chalkboard with the words Summer Time scribbled on it. Also shown in the foreground are a stack of books, an eaten apple, and colored pencils. You did it! You made it to the final week of school! Whether you're a parent, guardian, teacher, student, or staff member, we hope you're looking back at this year with pride knowing that you learned, grew, made connections, and contributed to this community.

The PTSA would like to thank all the wonderful volunteers who helped make our programs and events possible this year. The individual names are too numerous to list, but we do want to spotlight the amazing programs that they made happen: Student Store, Staff Appreciation lunches, Reflections, 8th Grade Party, Science Olympiad, Math Olympiad, Emergency Preparedness, PTSA Awards, Paving the Way Together fundraiser, Membership, Newsletter, Advocacy and Legislation, Hi-Cap Liaison, Special Education Rep, parent-education events, and more.

Congratulations to our 8th graders as they head off to high school! And best wishes to retiring Leota educators and staff members! Best of luck as you embark on your next adventures. Remember: Once a lion, always a lion!

And finally, thank you for reading the PTSA newsletter this year. We hope it helped you feel more connected to this school. The PTSA looks forward to reconnecting with the Leota community when we gear up for back-to-school. In the meantime, we hope everyone has a fantastic summer!

Last call to buy tickets to 8th Grade Party

Thanks to all Staff Appreciation volunteers
The bagel sandwich lunch earlier this month was a big hit with the staff, and a great way to round out our year of Staff Appreciation events! We want to thank all our amazing volunteers; we truly couldn’t do this without you. The monthly luncheons are so appreciated and enjoyed by our wonderful Leota staff. We hope you all have a fun and relaxing summer break, and we’re already looking forward to seeing everyone next year!

Special thanks to committee chairs Vicki Johnson and Karla Pak for their excellent leadership of this program for the second year in a row. They have done an incredible job managing all the volunteers, food contributions, and supplies needed to make these luncheons happen every month. We are thankful for all the careful planning and organizing they've done to make sure our staff feel valued, seen, and well fed!

A message from Treasurer Angela La Tourette

Please be sure to turn in all Leota PTSA expenses ASAP--the sooner, the better. We need to complete reimbursements by the end of June, but we need to have time to write checks and answer any questions. If you have expenses that need to be reimbursed by the PTSA, fill out the Leota PTSA Check Request Form and email it to lalatourette@gmail.com. Be sure to include receipts.

Thank you for your cooperation and please reach out to me if you have questions!
