How to Avoid Paying Interest on Purchases

Your due date is at least 23 days after the close of each billing cycle. We will not charge you interest on purchases if you pay your entire balance by the due date each month.

About the Variable APRs on Your Account: We use the highest Prime Rate listed in the The Wall Street Journal on the last business day of each month. For the non-promotional purchase and balance transfer APR, we add either 12.49%, 18.49% or 23.49% to the Prime Rate (Maximum APR 29.99%) based on your creditworthiness. For the cash advance APR, we add 23.99% to the Prime Rate (Maximum APR 29.99%). See your Cardmember Agreement for more detail. The APRs noted above are current as of 02/29/2024 using a Prime Rate of 8.5%.

Important Information About Procedures for Opening a New Account: To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means to you: When you apply for an account, we will ask for your name, street address, date of birth, social security number, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see copies of identifying documents. We also ask for country of citizenship.

Balance Transfers. Here's How it Works: To request a balance transfer please enter the 15/16 digit account number from the Mastercard, Visa, American Express, or Discover Card account that you want us to process a balance transfer from. If the total amount you request exceeds the assigned credit line on your new account, we may either decline the request or send a partial payment to your creditor(s). The amount of available credit on your new account will be reduced by the amount transferred and the related balance transfer fees. We reserve the right to decline to process any requested balance transfer. We will not process a request to transfer a balance from any other account you may have with us. Balance transfers incur interest from the transaction date. You should not transfer the amount of any disputed purchase or other charge. If you do, you may lose your dispute rights.

Upon approval of your application we will process the requested balance transfer payment to the account(s) which you have requested on the 10th day after we've mailed you your card; during this 10 day time period you may cancel your balance transfer by contacting us at the number on the back of your card. A balance transfer may take up to 4 weeks to post to your other accounts. Continue to pay each creditor until the balance transfer appears on the other account as a credit. If you would like to complete a balance transfer from another account that is not a Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover Card account, please call the phone number on the back of your new credit card once you are approved. Balance transfers are subject to availability. We may deny balance transfer requests at any time and for any reason.

How to Avoid Paying Interest on Purchases (excluding Easy Pay):  You can avoid paying interest on purchases if you pay your purchase balance subject to interest (excluding Easy Pay Offers) plus any monthly Easy Pay Payment Amount in full by the Payment Due Date every month. If you do not pay your purchase balance subject to interest (excluding Easy Pay Offers) plus any monthly Easy Pay Payment Amount by the due date each month, you will pay interest from the date purchases are posted to your account until the date you pay those Purchases in full. To avoid a late fee, you should pay at least the minimum payment due on your account each month.

Credit Limit: We do not permit applicants to request a specific credit limit. We do not consider a request for a balance transfer made with an application to be a request for a particular credit limit. We determine the credit limit on your account independent of and prior to processing any balance transfer request.

Cash Equivalent Purchases: The purchase of money orders, travelers' checks, foreign currency, lottery tickets, gambling chips, wire transfers and other similar transactions are treated as cash advances. Please see your Cardmember Agreement for details.

New York Residents: New York residents may contact the New York State Department of Financial Services by telephone (800) 342-3736, or visit the website, www.dfs.ny.gov, for free information on comparative credit card rates, fees and grace periods. 

Notice to Ohio Residents: The Ohio laws against discrimination require that all creditors make credit equally available to all creditworthy customers, and that credit reporting agencies maintain separate credit histories on each individual upon request.  The Ohio Civil Rights Commission administers compliance with this law.

Notice to Married Wisconsin Residents: No marital property agreement, unilateral statement or court decree under Wisconsin's marital property law will adversely affect our interests unless before your account is opened, you give us a copy of the agreement, statement or decree or we have actual knowledge of it. You understand that we may be required to give notice of this account to your spouse. Xbox gamertag on your card: For primary cardmember only. To be eligible to print, gamertag must only contain alphanumeric characters and/or spaces; no special characters allowed. Gamertag must comply with Microsoft Service Agreement, and Xbox Community Standards: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/legal/community-standards; if gamertag violates these standards, Barclays reserves the right to issue or reissue your card without a printed gamertag. If you change your gamertag after having it printed on your Xbox Mastercard, a replacement card will not be automatically reissued.

XBOX MASTERCARD REWARD RULES

This document contains the official reward rules for your Xbox Mastercard (the “Xbox Card”) account (“Account”) issued by Barclays Bank Delaware, located in Wilmington, DE (“Barclays,” “we,” “us,”, or “our”) and includes important conditions and limitations (“Reward Rules”) for your Account rewards program (“Program”). Use of your Account constitutes your acceptance of each of the terms described below and the terms of the Cardmember Agreement (“Cardmember Agreement”). “You”, “your” or “primary cardmember” means the person who applied for the Account. Capitalized terms not defined in these Reward Rules have the meaning ascribed to them in the Cardmember Agreement.

Barclays is solely responsible for establishing these Reward Rules and for communicating with Microsoft Corporation (“Microsoft”), as described below, to administer the Reward Rules. Game Pass Ultimate codes earned through the Program are fulfilled by Microsoft. Game Pass Ultimate is owned and operated by Microsoft and is not a product or program of Barclays.

Microsoft is solely responsible for establishing the terms and conditions governing products and services of Microsoft, including use of Game Pass Ultimate codes issued through the Program, use of gift cards toward Microsoft products and services, and the terms and conditions of your Microsoft account and any other account or profile that you may have with Microsoft. Microsoft reserves the right to change or cancel the terms and conditions associated with Microsoft products and services (including, without limitation, Xbox), at any time with or without prior notice. 

The Privacy Policy for Barclays is available online at BarclaysUS.com. Microsoft’s Privacy Statement is available online at privacy.microsoft.com. You agree that Barclays and Microsoft will share information to the extent needed to administer the Program.

Reward Rules Administration
The Program and Reward Rules are administered by Barclays. Barclays reserves the right to modify, amend or terminate the Reward Rules and the Program at any time with or without notice. You can review current Reward Rules any time by logging in to your Account at BarclaysUS.com

Points earned through use of the Xbox Mastercard (“Card Points”) can be redeemed according to the section titled Redeeming Card Points. Xbox gift cards available through redemption of Card Points via BarclaysUS.com (“Xbox Mastercard Gift Cards”) are administered by IDS Ohio, Inc. (“InComm InCentives”), an independent company not affiliated with Barclays or Microsoft. InComm InCentives Terms and Conditions (“Redeemed Rewards Terms & Conditions”) specific to Xbox Mastercard Gift Card redemptions are available at BarclaysUS.com on the Shop page.

To maintain your eligibility for participation in the Program through use of the Account:

  • You must have an active Microsoft account, with an Xbox profile, to apply for the Xbox Mastercard.
  • If your Microsoft account is closed, for any reason, you will forfeit Account benefits fulfilled by Microsoft (Game Pass Ultimate codes and redemption of Card Points toward Redemption Eligible Purchases).
  • If your Microsoft account is temporarily suspended or otherwise locked, your access to Account benefits fulfilled by Microsoft will be unavailable during the time in which your account is suspended or otherwise locked.
  • You must maintain an open Account that is in good standing. “Good Standing” means your Account is not in default under your Cardmember Agreement with us (in “Good Standing”).
  • You must be an individual (corporations, partnerships, and other entities may not participate) and use the Account only for personal, family or household expenses.

Important Information about Card Rewards.

  • Your Account, and any Card Points or other benefits earned through the Account, will be linked to the Microsoft account and Xbox profile of the primary cardmember only. An individual is eligible for only one Account regardless of the number of Microsoft accounts or Xbox profiles they may have.
  • As long as the Program continues and the Account is open and in Good Standing, there is no limit to the total Card Points you can earn and your Card Points will not expire.
  • You may not earn Card Points during any period in which your Account is past due.
  • You may not be able to redeem Card Points if your Account is not in Good Standing.
  • If you have a Card Points balance on your Account that meets the minimum redemption requirement(s), you will have 60 days from the Account closure date to redeem any outstanding Card Points, as long as your Account, at the time of closure, was not closed for any reasons outlined in the Card Points Forfeiture Section.
  • All Card Points earned by the primary cardmember and any Authorized User(s) will be added to the primary cardmember’s Card Points balance.
  • Benefits earned through your Account and accessed or redeemed through a Microsoft account will only be available to the primary cardmember’s Microsoft account.
  • If you do not receive credit for earned Card Points, please contact the Customer Service number on the back of your card.
  • You have no property rights or other legal interest in Card Points. Card Point amounts have no cash value or value of any kind until they are fully redeemed. Card Points may not be transferred or assigned.
  • Participation in the Program through use of your Account is subject to all applicable laws and regulations. The sale or barter of any Card Points offered through the Program earned through use of the Account, other than by us or Microsoft, is expressly prohibited.
  • You are solely responsible for any taxes that may be owed as a result of Card Points earned and/or redeemed. Please consult your tax advisor if you have tax questions about the Program. Barclays does not provide tax advice.
  • You can view a summary of your Card Points earned through the use of your Account on your monthly Account billing statement or by logging into BarclaysUS.com.

Earning Card Points
You earn Card Points for purchases less credits, returns and adjustments (“Net Purchases”) made by you and/or any Authorized User(s) of the Account as follows:

  • You earn 5 Card Points for every $1 spent on Net Purchases of eligible consumer products purchased through qualifying web, app and console-based digital Microsoft stores, (“5x Eligible Purchases”). The most up-to-date details regarding 5x Eligible Purchases can be found at BarclaysUS.com/XboxMastercardRewards.
  • You earn 3 Card Points for every $1 spent on Net Purchases of eligible dining delivery services. Eligible dining delivery services are limited to third party services which deliver on behalf of restaurants and businesses. This does not include delivery services operated directly by restaurants, or services which deliver recipe and ingredient preparation kits. The most up-to-date list of eligible dining delivery services can be found at BarclaysUS.com/XboxMastercardRewards.
  • You earn 3 Card Points for every $1 spent on Net Purchases of eligible streaming services. Streaming services include video, music and audio entertainment services. The most up-to-date list of eligible streaming services can be found at BarclaysUS.com/XboxMastercardRewards.
  • You earn 1 card point for every $1 spent on all other Net Purchases.
  • Purchases must be submitted by merchants using the merchant category codes and merchant identifiers for purchases in the above specified categories to qualify for the additional Card Points. Barclays and Microsoft are not responsible for incorrectly coded purchases. Additional Card Points may not be earned if the merchant submits the purchase using a mobile or wireless card reader or if you use a mobile or digital wallet to pay for the purchase. Additionally, purchases made through third parties, including online marketplaces and resellers, or using a third-party payment account will not earn additional Card Points.
  • Balance transfers, cash advances (including cash equivalent transactions such as, but not limited to, the use of your Account to obtain money orders, traveler’s checks, foreign currency and lottery tickets), fees, interest charges and unauthorized/fraudulent purchases are not considered Net Purchases and do not earn Card Points.

Bonus Card Points

  • You will earn 5,000 Card Points after your first Net Purchase within the first 180 days of your Account open date. This offer may be canceled at any time without notice.

From time to time, we may offer bonuses of Card Points or other incentives to new Xbox Mastercard cardmembers in connection with an application for a new account. These bonuses and/or incentives are intended for applicants who are not and have not previously been an Xbox Mastercard cardmember. You understand and agree that you may no longer be eligible for any bonuses and/or incentives in connection with a new Xbox Mastercard account after this Account is opened. If you receive a bonus or incentive for which you are not eligible due to your status as a current or former Xbox Mastercard cardmember, we may revoke the bonus or incentive, or reduce your Card Points by the amount of the bonus or incentive or charge your Account for the fair value of the bonus or incentive, in our sole discretion.

Redeeming Card Points

  • You have the option to redeem your Card Points toward eligible digital products purchased through the single item “Buy” or “Buy Now” options at Xbox.com when using your Xbox Mastercard, excluding the “Buy as gift” option or (the first and/or) any recurring automatic payments for subscriptions (“Redemption Eligible Purchases”). Alternatively, you can redeem Card Points for Xbox Mastercard Gift Cards either via BarclaysUS.com or by calling the number on the back of your card. See also sections titled Redeem Toward Microsoft Purchases and Xbox Mastercard Gift Card Redemptions.
  • Only the primary cardmember can redeem Card Points toward Redemption Eligible Purchases or for Xbox Mastercard Gift Cards through BarclaysUS.com.
  • Any Authorized User(s) on the Account is only able to redeem Card Points for Xbox Mastercard Gift Cards by calling the number on the back of the card.
  • Barclays and Microsoft are not responsible for unauthorized redemptions on your Account.
  • All redemptions are final. Card Points can’t be returned, refunded, exchanged or credited, unless otherwise specified.

Redeem Toward Microsoft Purchases

  • The most up-to-date details regarding Redemption Eligible Purchases can be found at: Xbox.com/creditcardterms.
  • To redeem Card Points for Redemption Eligible Purchases, you must have an active Microsoft account with an Xbox profile.
  • Redemptions of Card Points will apply only to the pre-tax price of your Redemption Eligible Purchase. Your total purchase, inclusive of taxes, will be charged to your Account.
  • You may redeem Card Points at a 1% value (for example 1,000 Card Points can be redeemed for $10) toward your Redemption Eligible Purchase. When redeeming Card Points through “Buy” or “Buy Now” options at Xbox.com, you must be signed into your Microsoft account. Your Account will be charged for the full purchase amount, after which a credit for the redemption value of your Card Points toward the pre-tax price of your Redemption Eligible Purchase will be applied to your Account.
  • For Redemption Eligible Purchases which are immediately shipped or digitally delivered, the credit will be posted to your Account within 2-3 business days of your transaction posting and will appear on your Account billing statement within 1 billing cycle.
  • For Redemption Eligible Purchases which are not fulfilled immediately, redemptions will be applied to your Card Points balance and the credit will be posted to your Account within 2-3 business days of the product being shipped or digitally delivered. You must have available Card Points at that time to complete the redemption.
  • The minimum redemption amount toward Redemption Eligible Purchases is 100 Card Points (a $1 value).
  • Statement credits reduce your Account balance but cannot be applied toward any minimum payment requirement and are otherwise subject to the terms and conditions applicable to your Account.

Xbox Mastercard Gift Card Redemptions

  • The primary cardmember may redeem Card Points for Xbox Mastercard Gift Cards at BarclaysUS.com or by calling the number on the back of the card. An Authorized User needs to call the number on the back of the card.
  • Redemptions for Xbox Mastercard Gift Cards start at 1,500 Card Points for $15.
  • You can redeem Xbox Mastercard Gift Cards to your Microsoft account on an Xbox console or connected device; Xbox Mastercard Gift Cards have no expiration date and can be used for eligible purchases (exclusions apply) at select Microsoft digital stores. Eligible purchases and prices vary by region, device, and over time.  Geographic limitations, country and balance restrictions, taxes, age restrictions, and ISP fees apply.  Paid subscriptions are required for some content.   • Xbox Mastercard Gift Cards are not exchangeable, refundable, transferable or redeemable for cash, cannot be replaced if lost or stolen and are void where prohibited.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

  • After completing your first Net Purchase within 180 days of your Card Account open date, you will receive a code from Microsoft that can be redeemed for three months of free Game Pass Ultimate for new Game Pass members.
  • Game Pass Ultimate codes are valid for new Xbox Game Pass members in the 50 United States only.
  • Unless cancelled, Game Pass Ultimate subscription continues automatically at the regular monthly price when the promotional period ends. Complete Game Pass Ultimate subscription terms can be found at xbox.com/subscriptionterms.
  • Code must be redeemed by the expiration date provided when you receive the code. Limit 1 per Microsoft account.

Card Points Forfeiture
If your Account is closed for any of the following reasons, your Card Points earned will be forfeited if/based upon:

  • You or any Authorized User(s) on the Account engages in any fraudulent or illegal activity through the use of your Account.
  • You, or any Authorized User(s) on the Account engage in any activity that is deemed to be abusive activity or rewards manipulation, as determined by us in our sole discretion. Abusive activity or rewards manipulation includes, but is not limited to, obtaining or using an account to maximize rewards earned in a manner that is not consistent with typical consumer activity and/or multiple credit card account applications/openings, as determined by us in our sole discretion.
  • You or any Authorized User(s) on the Account have negative public record information identified.
  • Your history of Account usage.
  • Your Account is delinquent, as determined by Barclays in its sole discretion.
  • You or any Authorized User(s) on the Account violate any of the Account Rewards Rules.
  • Your Account is otherwise in default under your Cardmember Agreement with us.

Limitation and Release of Liability
By participating in the Program and accepting and using Card Points earned through the Program, you (on your behalf and on behalf of any person to whom you give the benefits from the Program) release, discharge and hold harmless Barclays, Microsoft and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, administrators, employees, officers, directors, successors and assignees from all claims, damages or liability including, but not limited to, physical injury or death, arising out of participation in the Program or travel taken or use of products purchased in connection with the Program. Barclays, Microsoft, and InComm InCentives are not responsible for unauthorized redemptions on your Account. Barclays has no liability in case of disagreement over issuance of Card Points, items received through redemptions, or a cardmember’s right to redeem or possess Card Points.  

Important General Program Disclosures
Barclays reserves the right to correct inaccurate Card Points values represented on statements, our website and/or our mobile app, at our sole discretion. We may, at our sole discretion, cancel, modify, restrict or terminate the Program or any aspects or features of the Program at any time without prior notice. All interpretations of the Reward Rules shall be at our sole discretion. Other significant terms may apply. All trademarks and service marks belong to their respective owners. We are not responsible for typographical errors or omissions in this document, website, mobile app, or any marketing materials. Card Points cannot be combined with other discount or reward programs unless specifically authorized by us.
