We're kicking off the first LAN of the new year at the NA Regional Finals in Anaheim, California! North America's best teams will go head-to-head for $125,000 and all the glory. Will Cloud9 continue their dominance, or will we see a new victor?

As announced on the HCS Twitter, we are no longer able to feature a live in-person audience and the open portion of competition had to be played online in the form of a Qualifier. Originally, Pool Play at Anaheim was going to feature 12 teams, however, with the pivot to 16 total teams in attendance, we instead qualified 8 additional teams to join the 8 that pre-qualified at the Kickoff Major in Raleigh. Those additional 8 teams have also earned travel coverage to the event.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

The format for Anaheim is quite close to the original format and should be familiar to players and fans alike.

Pool Play:

  • 4 pools of 4 teams drawn before the event
  • Single Round Robin, Best of 5
  • 1st place team receives a bye and moves to Winner’s Round 2 of the Championship Bracket.
  • 2nd and 3rd place teams go into Winner’s Round 1.
  • 4th place teams go into Elimination Round 1.

Championship Bracket:

  • Double Elimination
  • All 16 teams
  • Best of 5, until Grand Finals which will be best of 7.

FAQ

COVID Protocol: Day by day and week by week the landscape around the COVID-19 pandemic continues to change, and while we’re glad to be able to still have a competition on LAN, we still need to abide by local regulations and work with the Microsoft Security and Events teams. Below is what you can expect at the event:

  • Face masks are required for all individuals
  • All players and staff must self-attest to their health in the Microsoft Health Check App each day and check in before entering the venue
  • For those vaccinated, you must upload your vaccination proof to the Microsoft Health Check App.
  • All players and staff must provide proof of negative PCR test within 72 hours of entering the venue.

COVID FAQ:

  • Do I need to present proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test?
    • To enter the venue all attendees and staff must attest to their health status, each day. Entrance into the venue will not be allowed without attesting each day, and no exceptions will be made.
  • Will I be required to take a temperature test or COVID test on site?
    • No. Temperature and COVID tests will not be required unless local, state, or federal guidelines require one. Reach out to halo@eslgaming.com.
  • Will I be required to wear a mask or face covering, or other PPE, while at the event?
    • Masks will be required for all attendees, players and staff at all times while inside the venue. For qualified teams that have questions on this please contact halo@eslgaming.com or your DreamHack contact.
  • What is considered "fully vaccinated"?
    • A valid certificate of vaccination, with vaccines approved by CDC/WHO.
  • What kind of tests will be accepted?

  • Is there an age limit?
    • All players must be 13 years of age or older to compete, players not yet 18 years of age need a signed parental consent form. If you are not yet 18 please check with tournament staff immediately after qualifying.
  • What if I am under the age limit at the time of qualification but meet the age requirements by the event date? Can I still participate?
    • Players will need to be of age by Feb 11, 2022.
  • I am with the press and would like to cover the event. Who should I reach out to for information and Press Access?

  • Is there a limit to the number of teams eligible to compete in this tournament?
    • 8 teams qualified from Raleigh top placements and 8 qualified from online Anaheim Qualifier.
  • What equipment should I bring if I'm competing?
    • All players competing must bring:
      • Your preferred wired peripheral (Xbox wired Controller or Mouse and Keyboard)
      • USB cord required for your preferred peripheral
      • Headset with no power outlet and a 3.5 mm plug
      • Wired Earbuds (needed for Feature Station and Main Stage play)
    • Mixamps will be provided. Bringing backup equipment is recommended.
  • Which monitors will be used for the tournament?
    • All tournament and warmup monitors will be played on BenQ Model XL2540K
  • How does travel coverage work?
    • All teams that qualify will be given a travel stipend (arrival day the 9th) and DreamHack will book hotel for the duration of the event!
