Restaurant owners describe devastation

The restaurant industry is facing its toughest challenge yet with forced closures requiring owners to quickly change their business models to be delivery only. Already, local eateries are permanently shutting down, unable to weather the drastic loss in revenue. Others are sending workers home unpaid or having massive layoffs. The National Restaurant Association is calling for financial relief from the federal government, stating “Without aggressive and immediate action...many restaurants that are a staple of local communities will simply never resume service."
