- While doing research for my book, "Secrets of Silicon Valley," I once asked a CEO at a large tech company, "What keeps you up at night?" He responded, "I don't know what's on the minds of my employees and I certainly don't know what the next big idea is." So I spent time trying to figure out how to solve this problem. And I came up with an innovation process that I coined, Improvisational Innovation. Why improvisational? Because it's about being in the moment. Improvisational Innovation is a bottoms-up, 12-step process that allows anyone in any corner of the company to be able to bring forth new ideas in a safe and trusted environment.
