Who remembers the children's game Candy Land? My kids and I were playing it the other day and it dawned on me how much we can learn about life from it. Things like: - Life is a winding path - Sometimes you take MASSIVE steps forward (thank you, Queen Frostine!) - Sometimes you take teeny tiny steps forward that may not seem like anything significant, but they end up being meaningful - Sometimes you draw a card that sends you way backwards, right when you're at the finish line (damn Plumpy!!) - There are shortcuts you can take, but they don't always work out like you thought they would I know, I know... it's JUST a game, Anne!! But maybe there are lessons even in the most silly of games. What do y'all remember about Candy Land? Any other games that have taught you a life lesson? #lifeadvice #coaching #personaldevelopment

This is great, Anne Forbush! I love the shout-out to Queen Frostine!

I love the lessons learned from games. It's easy to reinforce the lessons too if you love to play!

Gaming makes up a significant portion of my life - a valuable lesson from it is learning how to be creative within given rule sets & restrictions.

I remember arguing with my sister who would be Princess Lolly and who got to be Queen Frostine. I think Frostine is a princess now but that was the big memory of Candyland because I always had to be the princess not the queen.

I was JUST talking about the same thing in the context of Chutes and Ladders! There's a lesson in everything if you're willing to look at it.
