Morton East Culinary head to state!

One of our Morton East Culinary Arts students, Arturo Cervantes, qualified for Nationals for FCCLA, earning first place!  He and two other Mustangs competed against 13 other students from the State on March 22nd at the College of DuPage.  Arturo walked away with the gold, and Nadia Perez and Daniel Mireles earned silver. They all worked very hard in preparation for this competition. 

The next step for Arturo is Nationals in Seattle WA on June 29.

The Morton East Theatre Department presents: The SpongeBob Musical

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Based on the beloved cartoon series, The SpongeBob Musical is a silly, thoughtful, energetic show for all ages! Performances begin Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 7pm through Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 2pm! Be there or be square!

Morton East FAME 2024 Art Show

Morton East, SAVE THE DATE for our 2nd Annual FAME Spring Show on April 19th beginning at 5pm! 

Morton West Cardboard Boat Race

In partnerships with The Royal Group in Cicero, IL and the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation on a pilot opportunity for our students, students from across the district have been challenged to work as a team to plan, design and construct a boat made entirely of corrugated sheets and duct tape. Students floated their boat across the Morton West Pool.  The top three winners received prizes in scholarship money, as well as opportunities to win the design/creativity competition of the “most creative boat”. GO Mustangs!

Mustangs celebrated the Solar Eclipse

Our Morton Mustangs celebrated the solar eclipse district-wide on April 8, 2024. Each campus held a "Time to Shine" event fully equipped with telescopes on the rooftop of the school and fun activities.

Music in Our Schools Celebration

300+ students from 9 schools performed & shared their love of music. The Music in Our Schools Celebration featured talented singers and musicians & highlighted how music brings us together. Thanks to all who made this possible!

Students learn about the Holocaust through VR Technology

Through a generous grant from The Illinois Holocaust Museum, Morton West students in APUSH, APEuro, APWH, & other histories used VR trunks to learn about the Holocaust, build historical thinking skills, and develop social & emotional learning objectives. Unbelievably powerful experience.

Morton engineering qualifies for State!

Triton College hosted the Illinois Design Educator Association(IDEA) regional competition on Friday March 8th.

2021 Morton East Alum receives award from UIC

Flor Quiroz is a 2021 Pay it Forward Scholarship recipient who recently received the Student Leadership Award from the University of Illinois Champagne-Urbana’s Immigration Forum. Congratulations, Flor!

Congratulations Mathletes Geometry team! The students who will be competing at state are Hector Valtierrez, Santiago Zarco, Javier Cruz, Oswaldo Barron, Jesus Brito, Denice Ceniceros, and Jesus Zuniga. 

Congratulations Adela Garcia-Ordon and Anahi Salgado!

Two of our Morton East seniors, Adela Garcia-Ordon and Anahi Salgado, were offered scholarships for entering the senior scholarship exhibit portion of the IHSAE Art ConnectED competition. Their scholarships offered totaled $152,000! GO Mustangs! This is #MortonPride!
