Upfront Ventures Raises $650M In New Investment Funds

Los Angeles-based venture capital investment firm Upfront Ventures, one of the region's most active venture capital investors, announced that it has raised $650M across three venture capital funds, which it says will allow the firm to continue making investments for "many years ahead." According to Upfront, the new funds include its seventh, early-stage fund (Upfront VII), worth $280M -- which it will invest in seed and early stage founders, a third growth-stage fund worth $200M, and its Continuation Fund worth more than $175M. Upfront said the areas of focus for the new, early stage fund include healthcare and applied biology; defense technologies; computer vision; agtech and sustainability; fintech; consumerization of enterprise software; and gaming infrastructure.
